Exterminators (Applicators) from outside of Ontario

If you are already licensed/certified as an exterminator in another province or territory, and you wish to become licensed as an exterminator in Ontario, you must:

1. Complete the order form for the purchase of Ontario Exterminator study materials (the Core Manual which contains information relevant to all exterminators and a Licence Category Specific Module which contains information relevant to the licence class you already hold).
2. Read and review the study materials that will be sent to you.
3. Become knowledgeable about the legislation and regulations that govern the practice of the occupation of exterminators in Ontario.  Official copies of the Pesticides Act and Ontario Regulations 63/09 can be downloaded from the Goverment of Ontario website.  
4. Go to the MECP pesticide licences and permit page for information on how to apply.

Education Materials

All Ontario Pesticide Training and Certification study modules (Core manual and 12 Licence Category Specific Modules) are available to purchase as reference books. (The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks is the sole owner of the modules and the Queen's Printer for Ontario shall retain all copyright pertaining to the modules).

Please Note:  If you plan to apply for a new Exterminators Licence, you must first be certfied through Ontario Pesticide Training and Certification.  Your study manuals are included as part of your certification fee.  There is no discount in the fee if you already have the manuals. 

Please Note:  If you are already licensed/certified in another province or territory and wish to become licensed in Ontario, you are required to purchase the Core Manual and the Licence Category Specific Module relevant to your existing licence.  Contact the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (Technical Assessment and Standards Development Branch).
